Dr Zagami is privileged as an academic to provide community and outreach services to the public and the education profession. He supports a wide range of educational, industry, philanthropy, alumni, committees, foundations, societies, boards, and professional associations.
Dr Zagami's academic service includes editorships, conference convenorships, journal and conference refereeing, thesis examinations, media statements, public policy submissions, research grant evaluations, and award judgements. From 2015 to 2017 Dr Zagami undertook the executive role of Coordinator of Community Partnerships for the School of Education and Professional Studies.
Dr Zagami publishes to non academic journals, magazines and newsletters, and presents at professional conferences to more widely distribute research and contribute to public and professional discourse and policy development. He also regularly conducts seminars, workshops and short courses to support curriculum reforms and assist schools to implement education technology innovations.
