EducateIT
Computer education in Gold Coast schools is undergoing rapid changes with the introduction of the compulsory K-10 Digital Technologies and Years 11 and 12 Digital Solutions (Computer Science) subjects, in addition to ongoing developments in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning.
EducateIT (previously the Gold Coast EduTech board) has the aim of supporting Gold Coast schools by coordinating the efforts of governments, businesses, universities and organisation to support computer education in our schools.
The board meets once a month for approximately 2 hours and supports the development of links with industry, professional development, competitions, and conferences for Gold Coast students, teachers and schools.
Currently the board is meeting on the Griffith University Gold Coast campus with room locations advertised in the meeting agenda and parking visitor available on request 48 hours prior to the meeting.
EducateIT is supported by the Queensland Society for Information Technology in Education Gold Coast Chapter (QSITE), the Australian College of Educators Gold Coast Regional Group (ACE), and the Teacher Education Industry Advisory Group for Griffith University Gold Coast (TEIAG).
If you are interested in joining the board, attending to find out more, or presenting at the board, please contact the EducateIT Board secretary Michele Pikunic mlpik0@eq.edu.au
We look forward to your contributing to the EducateIT board and what we can achieve together to improve computer education on the Gold Coast.
