Digital Twins

Zagami, J. (2025, April). Digital Twins.  GIER GenAI Education Lab. Griffith University. Gold Coast, Australia

The application of Digital Twins and Agentive Large Language Models in teaching and research

In teaching, applying individualised LLM instances, trained on specific sets of course data, including personal information gained from student introductions, to create idealised digital representations of students that can demonstrate the capacities of accomplished teachers, and using these to mentor students in an apprentice model, where students observe the capabilities of what they can become, and work towards achieving these capabilities.

In research, applying individualised LLM instances, trained on a researcher’s body of work, including publicly available personal information, to create digital twins that can be used to explore concepts, develop consensus, and co-develop research. Large numbers of researcher digital twins can work together to explore how research communities can address issues collectively.
