Cognitive Visualisation in Arts Education

Dr Zagami is researching the use of EEG signals as artistic expressions. He is also using cognitive visualisation to make explicit the physiological changes of the brain in response to artistic experience.

Dr Zagami has a 2010 dataset of 175 EEG recordings made during artistic experiences (Music (75), Drama (23), Dance (36), and Visual Arts (41)) from 106 students studying to become primary school teachers and a further control group of 53 students. This includes pre and post responses to the Teaching With the Arts Survey (Oreck, 2011).
